DIY Pumpkin Face Mask Recipe

This all-natural skin treatment is the perfect way to use up any pumpkin leftover from Halloween decor – plus a few extra ingredients that you likely have in your kitchen cupboards already. High in enzymes, zinc and vitamins A and C, pumpkin is known to help heal and protect the skin; making it the perfect ingredient to help combat dry skin during the cold weather months.

Ingredients

1 small wedge of fresh pumpkin 2 tbsp of ground almonds (or a handful of whole almonds) 2 tbsp fair trade honey 2 tsp of raw, organic coconut oil ½ tsp of fair trade cinnamon About the ingredients… All of the ingredients used in this pumpkin face mask recipe are 100% natural - and completely edible – so it’s kind on skin, and healthier for the planet too. Pumpkin is known to work wonders for your skin as it’s rich in enzymes and packed-full of vitamins which naturally hydrate, brighten and soothe. Coconut oil is an excellent natural moisturiser, and as well as honey, which is also known for its anti-aging properties. The ground almonds will work as a gentle exfoliator which will help keep skin soft throughout the cooler months. DIY Pumpkin Face Mask Recipe

Method

1. Dice up your pumpkin wedge into small chunks. Blend into a smooth puree using a food processor. (This should make approx. 4 tablespoons of fresh pumpkin puree.) 2. If using whole almonds, ground them until fine texture and then mix together with your pumpkin puree. 3. Stir in your coconut oil and honey. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and mix all together. 4. Apply your pumpkin face mask to clean, moist skin using the back of a spoon. 5. Sit back and relax for 10-15 minutes. 6. Gentle wash off using warm water and pat your skin dry with a towel. 7.
