Thoughtful Friday Returns

Mayhem, chaos, frenzy – just some of the words we’d use to describe Black Friday. It just isn’t our cup of tea. Needless to say it’s also largely against our values as a brand, promoting fast fashion and mass consumerism. Thoughtful Friday So, in light of last year’s success we are returning to celebrate Thoughtful Friday – our alternative to Black Friday, where we will be donating 50% of all sales made through our website on 25th November to charity. As an ethical and sustainable clothing brand, we passionately support a variety of causes, from large-scale international organisations to smaller, local groups. So this year we have chosen to support two charities, the second of which we are inviting you, our valued customers to vote for. Thoughtful Friday The first charity we are supporting is Refugee Council, one of the leading charities in the UK working directly with refugees, and supporting them to rebuild their lives. Founded in 1951, the charity provides access to settled housing, health and wellbeing services, help with asylum related issues, financial stability, and access to training and employment. Discover more at refugeecouncil.org.uk   For our second charity we would love you to get involved by voting for your favourite, similarly to last year. This time we have developed a shortlist of three options that we feel we have an affiliation with. Below is a short bio on each charity and how you can vote for your favourite to benefit from our #thoughtfulfriday campaign. Thoughtful Friday

Women for Women International

Since 1993, Women for Women International has helped more than 447,000 marginalised women in countries affected by war and conflict. They directly work with women in 8 countries, offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty, to stability and economic self-sufficiency. Women for Women have a year-long training programme that equips women to earn money, regain their confidence and actively participate in their communities. Trees for Life

The core purpose of Trees for Life is to restore the Caledonian Forest and all its essential species of flora and fauna to the Scottish Highlands. By engaging volunteers to achieve this, they aim to provide a powerful and educational experience that will promote the work of restoration to wider audiences. Through providing a demonstration of the techniques of ecological restoration, they aim to inspire similar projects elsewhere in the UK and around the world. ‘Magnificent and magical, the Caledonian Forest is a wild place at its most wonderful. Every single tree planted helps to restore one of the world's greatest woodland habitats’. Discover more at treesforlife.org.uk   Thoughtful Friday

London Wildlife Trust

Established in 1981, the London Wildlife Trust is the only charity dedicated solely to protecting the capital's wildlife and wild spaces, engaging London's diverse communities through access to their nature reserves, campaigning, volunteering and outdoor learning. It engages the capital's diverse communities through access to over 40 Trust-run nature reserves and is committed to campaigning, volunteering and education. Discover more at wildlondon.org.uk   So, here’s how to vote. All you need to do is select your chosen charity from the list of three below and click ‘Vote’.

UPDATE: The vote has now ended.

Please vote for our 2nd #ThoughtfulFriday charity:
Women for Women International
Trees for Life
London Wildlife Trust

The vote will close at midnight on #ThoughtfulFriday 25th November and we will announce the chosen charity on Tuesday 29th November, which is incidentally #GivingTuesday.   Thank you for participating, and here’s to shopping thoughtfully this week. Thoughtful Friday
