Tips For Crafting At Home With The Sewcial Circle

We are so excited to partner with Katie from The Sewcial Circle in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight. Katie's studio is based in South East London, and she hosts regular workshops, children's parties and offers crafting kits. Katie is running an online workshop with us on the 11th March, demonstrating how to customise one of our Fairtrade tees through the art of hand stitching. We asked Katie for some of her top crafty tips for keeping busy at home. Read on to discover more.

Knit a Jumper

Now that we have a bit more time, why not take the opportunity to knit a jumper? There are plenty of kits and patterns available for absolute beginners, so there's no need to feel daunted! If you're a visual learner, there are also lots of great tutorials on YouTube to give you a hand.

Customise your Jeans

Spend some time adding some personal touches to your denim. Patch up holes with fun fabrics or even add some colourful stitches; this is a great way to give your wardrobe a new lease of life, and you might find you enjoy wearing your clothes more than before!

Make Tassel Earrings

Making jewellery from leftover threads is a great way to use up materials and get crafty at the same time. Quick and easy to make, these tassel earrings are perfect for your spring wardrobe and make a great gift too.

Add Pom Poms to your Sofa Cushions

Pom poms are so fun to make, and they add touches of colour to your space in minutes! This is the perfect weekend activity for kids too. Adding some pom poms to the edges of your sofa cushions can give them a fun, new feel. Learn to make a pom pom here.

Paint Something in your Home

Refresh your space with some fresh paint. Whether that's an accent wall, a mural or canvas, painting can be therapeutic and can allow you to enjoy your space more. Painting your chair legs or dining table is also a wonderful way to add touches of colour to your home.
